WHAT IS FORESTRY MULCHING?

Forestry mulching is a land clearing process that uses one machine to cut, grind and clear trees, vegetation, and overgrowth. This method leaves behind fine bits of ground up organic material called mulch. This is a great option for commercial, residential and agricultural properties. We use a Caterpillar 299D3 Skid Steer with a Caterpillar 415C mulcher that is designed for forestry mulching.

WHY USE A FORESTRY MULCHER?

  • Forestry Mulching is a selective land clearing and clean up process.

  • By clearing out overgrown and unusable land, the property will be more attractive and marketable for real estate.

  • Land becomes more usable as property owners can acquire additional space for potential expansion, by maximizing their property's capacity and unlocking new opportunities for development.

  • Wooded and overgrown areas can be developed for recreational use such as hiking, hunting, off-roading, and trail riding.

  • Unsightly, thick brush is difficult to maintain. Mulching allows the property to be cleared without damaging large, existing trees which results in aesthetically pleasing land that can be enjoyed.

  • Erosion is better prevented with the mulch layer than with a bulldozer, since dirt isn’t left exposed.

  • Mulching can help suppress weeds, help soil retain moisture, and is an environmentally friendly method to increase the overall health of the soil as the natural, organic material decomposes.
